IT WAS glitz and glamour at Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday night for the last Mayor’s Oscars of Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council.
Awards were given to a wide variety of citizens from across South Cheshire to recognise their efforts over the past year, and in some cases, over their whole lives.
Major winners included Crewe councillorr Ray Stafford, Willaston Parish Council chairman Mike Heywood and the Cheshire Academy of Integrated Sports and Arts, who all won a Mayor’s ‘Special Oscar’.
