Police appeal after ‘distressing’ burglary at Sandbach bungalow

17:17, Jan 23 2012

by Simon Halewood, Crewe Chronicle

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a ‘distressing’ burglary at a bungalow in Fields Drive, Sandbach.

At around 4.30pm on Wednesday January 4, the victim was asleep in bed when he was woken by noises. A short time later he saw a flash light being shone across his face.

DC Simon Gidman said: “The offenders or offender then left empty handed.

“They had forced they way in by breaking a rear window.

“While nothing was taken, it was still distressing for the resident to find someone in their own home. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the offence.

“Anyone with information should contact me on 101 quoting incident number 598 of January 4, 2012.”

Alternatively information can be given anonymously on the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
