Police in hunt for Shrewsbury sex attacker on bike

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was indecently assaulted as she walked home in Shrewsbury. The incident happened around 8.20pm yesterday (Sept 29) in Greyfrairs Road and left the victim shaken and distressed. A white male on a pedal cycle rode up behind the victim on the pavement. As she stopped to allow him past, he grabbed her before making off. PC Sean Bailey, who is investigating the incident, today appealed for anyone with information to contact him as a matter of urgency. “He was wearing trainers, a short jacket, dark beanie hat and had a dark scarf covering his face,” said PC Bailey. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT “We believe he had no lights on his bike and would ask anyone who saw someone matching this description in the area around this time to please contact police on 08457 444888 immediately. “The victim was not physically injured in the attack but has been left very distressed and shaken. We are treating this incident very seriously and I’d urge anyone with information to please get in touch.”
