14:11, Jun 30 2009

by simon halewood, Crewe Chronicle

POLICE are reminding homeowners to keep doors and windows locked overnight after two similar thefts at Crewe.

Between 7.30 and 9am on Sunday, a thief entered a semi-detached house at Timbrell Avenue through the front door, which was unlocked, and stole a handbag from the hallway before running off.

In a separate incident at around 10pm on Monday, a thief used an unlocked kitchen door to get into a house on Nelson Street, stole a handbag and ran off.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
