TWO schoolboys have been questioned by police in connection with a suspected arson attack at Sandbach School yesterday (Wednesday, January 18).
The 14-year-olds from Crewe, who are believed to be pupils, were arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire in the toilets of the Crewe Road school’s design and technology block at around 3.25pm.
One was released on police bail pending further enquiries. The other was released without charge.
Two fire crews from Crewe and Sandbach tackled the blaze at the all-boys school and investigators concluded the fire was started deliberately.
A school spokeswoman said: “There was a minor fire in the toilets of the design and technology block at around 3.25pm on Wednesday afternoon after the majority of the pupils had left the school site.
