A TEENAGE girl was robbed at knifepoint in Runcorn. The victim, 15, was mugged while she was walking home near The Knoll in Palacefields. She had headed past a group of young men near a block of flats when she heard footsteps behind her. Near Dorset Gardens, a thug jumped in her way and brandished a knife at her while demanding her mobile phone. She screamed and threw the device on the ground. The robber picked it up and ran toward The Uplands. The victim then approached a member of the public for help and they rang the police. The offender is described as white, in his late teens, of slim build. He was wearing a navy blue tracksuit top and dark tracksuit bottoms. He had a pale complexion with a triangular shaped mark above the right hand side of his top lip The incident happened at 9.45pm on January 23. Detective Constable Anthony Sullivan said: “The victim was not injured as a result of the incident but she was understandably left shaken by the ordeal. “We take all incidents of this nature extremely seriously and will do all we can to trace the offender. “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the area at the time and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch. “We are also keen to hear from anyone who has any information regarding the identity of the offender.” Witnesses and anyone with any information about the incident or knows the identity of the offender should call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 918 of January 23.
