A MUSICIAN who is registered blind has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.

Susan Hedges, of Neston, is up for a prestigious MBF Award for her dual-song composition from her experiences working in New York.

A third year music student at Liverpool Hope University, she suffers from the same condition as Stevie Wonder and has been blind since she was born three months prematurely.

The 22-year-old singer songwriter, who plays the keyboard, guitar, piano and mandolin, was nominated for the award by the university’s head of music, Professor Stephen Pratt.
