POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they’re hunting in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl in Ellesmere Port.
Officers are keen to speak to the male about the incident, which happened between 12.30-1.20am August 13.
The victim was walking home after visiting a friend when she was approached by a man who is alleged to have sexually assaulted her in an alleyway between Overpool Road and Marston Gardens.
The man then walked with the girl down Princes Road to a kebab shop on Whitby Road, where the images were captured on CCTV.
The offender is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, about 23-years-old and of average build.
He had shaved fair hair and was wearing a light-coloured top and dark trousers.
DC Lyndsey Kilburn said: "Thankfully incidents of this nature are rare, although I would like to take the opportunity to reiterate important safety messages to the community.
“We would always urge people, particularly lone females, to follow basic safety advice.
“Remain vigilant when walking alone at night, maintain an awareness of your surroundings and personal safety and always make sure that someone knows where you are going and when you are due back.
“Avoid poorly lit areas and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.”
