DORIN Park Special School in Chester has been presented with a special award to recognise the school’s initiative and work in recycling and sustainability.
The students recycle the majority of the Upton school’s books, uniform, plastics, ink cartridges, paper and card.
They grow their own vegetables and assist in the maintenance and appearance of the Wealstone Lane school and its grounds.
Pupils in the primary through to the sixth form are involved through the school council in making major decisions about the present and future running of Dorin Park.
All the pupils are offered the opportunity to become involved and everyone is keen.
