POLICE are appealing for information after two men stole cash and jewellery from an 83-year-old woman during a distraction burglary in Shavington.

The theft happened at about 8.45pm on Friday (September 21) when a man visited the woman at her Cameron Avenue home claiming her cat had been run over.

The victim asked the man to leave as her cat was in the house at the time.

Police say while they were talking, a second offender entered the house and stole jewellery, cash and bank books.

The first offender is described as short in height and slim and was wearing a pale blue cap.

No description of the second offender is available at this time.

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 979 of September 21 2012.
