FIREFIGHTERS battled throughout the night as flames tore through a farm in Chester.
At just before 9.30pm on Thursday (September 13) emergency services were called to a farm on High Street, Clotton in Chester after reports of a fire.
When they arrived crews discovered thick plumes of smoke billowing from a barn at the farm where a large scale fire had taken hold.
Firefighters from across the county are still fighting to control the blaze which started in a grain silo containing farming equipment.
Crews from Chester, Crewe, Tarporley, Malpas, Runcorn, Nantwich and Winsford rushed to the scene of the fire and used the hydraulic platform from Chester fire station to battle the blaze from above and stop it spreading to neighbouring buildings.
