THE RHS Flower Show at Tatton has beaten the rain to bloom.
The ninth annual show at Tatton Park begins today and runs until Sunday.
The Nantwich and South Cheshire Show was called off at the weekend after downpours in the run up to its scheduled July 25 start. And the Lancashire Show, set to begin on Friday, has had to be cancelled too.
A Tatton Park spokesman said: 'We're on track at the moment. We had a really sunny day on Monday which seems to have dried the ground.'
Organisers have installed temporary tracking to combat the heavy weather, enabling visitors to wander around 20 acres of magnificent parkland come rain or shine.
Show manager Kris Hulewicz added: 'There have been some rain showers along the way, but this hasn't hindered our designers in building some of the most creative gardens we've ever seen.
'The show is laid out with lots of paths and trackways to make it easy for visitors to navigate the showground, and if there is the odd shower there are plenty of marquees, like the show's Floral Marquee, to visit.'
Today's opening is reserved for RHS members with the show open to the general public from tomorrow.
