JOBSEEKERS are being invited to join Halton’s newest club in a bid to help them on their quest to find employment.
The new Friday afternoon work club is a place where job hunters can go to get advice and support to help them get back into the world of work.
Launched by Halton Borough Council, the work club will give residents the chance to meet others searching for employment, build new contacts, share job hunting experiences, and gain advice on interview techniques, CVs and volunteering opportunities.
The club is set to start on Friday, October 19, at Halton Lea Library and will run every other week from 2-4pm.
Halton Borough Council's executive board member for Libraries, Cllr Phil Harris, said: "Sometimes it can be easier to find another job is through friends, family or social networks, which is why it is so vital to have a Work Club in this area.
“During every session, we will help people to look for work by swapping ideas and talking to guest speakers including people from local businesses, about opportunities in the area.”
Digital job hubs have also been created at libraries across the borough.
The facility offers job hunters the chance to gain valuable IT jobseeking tips as well as access to a wide range of on and offline services.
The sessions are currently being held every Friday at Halton Lea Library from 10am with the Widnes sessions due to run from 2-4pm on Mondays from October 15.
