Hay bales burn in Runcorn

FIREFIGHTERS tackled four blazes within four hours at the southern edge of the Town Park in Runcorn yesterday. The first fire involved rubbish and happened at about 3.33pm on Waterford Way in Murdishaw. About half an hour later at 4.05pm, some hay set alight on Eanleywood Lane in Norton. At 4.44pm, a hay bale ignited on the Town Park near Fleetwood Walk in Murdishaw. This was followed by more hay bales setting alight at 7.21pm in the same area. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT Cheshire Fire And Rescue Service urged residents with information about what might have caused the fires to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
