Man arrested in connection with Chester sex assaults

POLICE have arrested a 52-year-old man in connection with two sexual assaults in Chester in the early hours of Monday morning (March 18).
The first incident took place at 3.57am on Granville Road and the second less than an hour later at 4.27am on Lorne Road, when the victims, aged 21 and 20, reported a man approaching them in the street and touching them inappropriately.
Inspector Ian Thorp of Chester Inner Neighbourhood Policing Team said:
“Cheshire police take the safety of our residents very seriously and do all we can to investigate, detect and deter this type of behaviour, which is clearly very distressing for the victim.
“A 52-year-old man from the Manchester area has been arrested in connection with the incidents.”
