Man in hospital following attack in Crewe

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious facial injuries in an attack in Crewe. The 39-year-old victim was assaulted between 7pm and 8pm on Saturday (February 6) as he walked along Derrington Avenue close to the school. A Cheshire Police spokesman said he suffered serious facial injuries and is being treated in Leighton Hospital. A 24-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
