OVERHEATED brakes caused a HGV truck to catch fire in the early hours of the morning.
Fire crews were called out to the scene on the A41 Whitchurch Road near Milton Green at 4.43am today (Thursday) and found the lorry’s trailer ablaze.
Two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel to extinguish the flames and the road had to be closed for a short time while the Highways Agency cleared the car’s contents - animal feed - away from the carriageway.
Crews later said the fire was started after the vehicle’s brakes overheated.
