Police alert over lost drugs

13:06, May 19 2008

by Chris Smith, Ellesmere Port Pioneer

A COCKTAIL of drugs lost in Ellesmere Port could prove fatal if taken by anyone.

That’s the warning by police after a handbag containing the medication was lost in the town centre some time on Friday.

The owner lost a months supply of Amlovasc blood pressure tablets in a blue box, a months supply of Peroxitine anti-depressants in a box, 60 tablets of Diazepam - equivalent to a months supply - in a small brown bottle, and two inhalers, as they suffer from asthma.

A Cheshire police spokesman said: “This medication could be dangerous if taken. And if taken in quantity, it could cause drowsiness and even prove fatal.

“If you find any of them, hand them in to Ellesmere Port Police Station immediately, or if you have any information about where they might be, call us on 0845 4580000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
