Police hunt robber who threatened shopkeeper with knife on Peelhouse Lane in Widnes

A KNIFE-WIELDING thug fled with a shop till during a robbery at a Widnes shop.

Detectives are hunting the suspect after the alleged incident at PGS Stores on Peelhouse Lane at 9.39pm on Saturday.

They said the robber burst in, threatened the 55-year-old shopkeeper with a blade then demanded he open the till.

The offender then grabbed the till and fled.

No one was injured.

The offender was white, in his late teens to early 20s and slim. He was wearing a grey hooded waterproof jacket and dark trousers.

Anyone with information should call Cheshire police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 1225 of September 15.
