RESIDENTS in Alsager have been invited to share their opinions on plans to build 110 new homes in the town.
Developer Persimmon Homes is hosting a public consultation exhibition on Monday, March 11 at Alsager Civic Centre, between 2pm and 7pm, enabling interested parties to view initial plans and comment on key issues surrounding a proposed site at Rhodes Field, Crewe Road.
Persimmon Homes North West managing director Neil Follows said: “We want to give the public an opportunity to air their views and help shape an outline planning application for the site.
“The proposals include 110 traditional family homes, of which 30% would be affordable rent or shared ownership properties. There will be public open space and a new children’s play area included on the site.”
If the application is approved, the council will receive almost £1m from the Government’s New Homes Bonus, to be invested in local infrastructure, and the homes will generate more than £150,000 of council tax each year.
Mr Follows added: “The consultation event will give members of the public an opportunity to view the outline plans, meet members of the Persimmon team and feedback on the proposals.
“Comments will be reviewed and, where possible, incorporated into the outline planning application to be submitted to Alsager Town Council.
“Alsager has been identified as an appropriate location for future development and, as a responsible builder, we want to be certain that any application we propose has been thoroughly considered by the local community it will serve.”
