Paul Anthony of Blacon Point Road noticed the strange sight at around 11.20pm on Friday. He said: “I thought it was one of those Chinese lanterns at first. Although I often see planes flying over on a clear night such as this one, the light caught my attention as it was travelling directly upwards at a moderate speed.
“I watched for around 30 seconds and it seemed to rise up and became more of a flickering, light pinkish, round blur. It then travelled across the clear night sky rising up in semi-circle fashion before moving into the distance. It didn’t make any kind of sound.”
The direction the object took was straight up from the police station and out over towards Sealand Road and North Wales.
“I’m a rational, level headed man,” said Paul. “I don’t use alcohol, take drugs or have a history of mental health issues. “I have ruled out in my mind all manner of man-made craft or objects or natural phenomena.
