Road re-opens following gas leak

13:00, Oct 24 2012

by Carmella de Lucia, Chester Chronicle

A ROAD that was closed following a gas leak in Great Boughton this morning (Wednesday) has now reopened.

A number of homes were also evacuated because of the leak on Whitchurch Road at about 11.5am but normal service has now been resumed after a utility company capped the leak.

Engineers are currently still at the scene making the area safe and restoring utilities.

There have been no reported casualties or health implications as a result of the leak.

Cheshire Police continue to work alongside partner agencies to ensure the safety of the local community.
