THE sister of missing vet Catherine Gowing has begged for the public’s help in tracing her.

Catherine Gowing’s sister Emma told a press conference in Colwyn Bay this afternoon that the 37-year-old was her ‘best friend’ and the light of her and her parents’ lives.

Fighting back the tears Emma, who is from County Offaly in mid-Ireland, pleaded with the public to help find Catherine, of Cae Isa in New Brighton, Mold, who was last seen at around 8.39pm at Asda Queensferry.

She said: “Look out of your windows as you drive or head to work. Check your local street, car parks, garages, wasteland. Please look, please search and please help find my beautiful sister.”

She described Catherine, who works at Evans Veterinary Practice in Clayton Road, Mold, as a ‘kind, sensitive, beautiful person’.

“She is passionate about animals and is utterly devoted to my family.

“She is my best friend, she is the light of my life and the light of my parents’ lives.

“If you have any information about Catherine, no matter how trivial you think it is, please contact the police on 101.”

A 46-year-old man from Gwynedd has been arrested on suspicion of Catherine’s murder. Magistrates in Prestatyn this morning granted police a 36 hour extension to continue questioning him.

Police are keen to trace her missing plum/ burgundy Renault Clio car with the Irish registration plates 00D 99970.
