DRIVERS are being warned to take extra care today (Thursday, February 9) as freezing temperatures continue to affect the South Cheshire area.
There are major concerns ‘freezing drizzle’ could affect driving conditions this morning and into the afternoon.
A Cheshire East spokesman said: “Freezing drizzle occurs when rain droplets fall on to frozen surfaces, causing ice to form immediately. This can even affect roads which have been gritted.
“A warning, issued by the MET Office, is still in place for Cheshire East.
“Cheshire East Council monitors weather forecasts, 24 hours a day, with gritting and snow-ploughing taking place where and when necessary.”
