STUDENTS had to be evacuated from a school bus after it caught fire.
Firefighters were called to the double decker bus Connah’s Quay Road, Northop, at 3.49pm on Monday after an electrical fault sparked a fire in the engine compartment.
A full evacuation of the bus was carried out before firefighters arrived on the scene.
They used dry powder and a hose reel to tackle the flames.
A spokesman for Flintshire County Council said: “The bus suffered an engine failure. The students were transferred to a replacement vehicle.”
