17:04, Jan 21 2013

by Lois York, Flintshire Chronicle

FLINTSHIRE residents are being advised if changes to their waste collections because of the adverse weather conditions.

Flintshire County Council’s waste collections teams are attempting to make collections as normal, but the following have become necessary:

Garden Waste collections (brown bins) have been suspended this week (week commencing January 21) and also next week (week commencing January 28).

Any properties not receiving a domestic waste (black) bin collection this week will receive a collection on their normal collection day the following week (weather permitting).

Any properties not receiving a recycling collection this week will receive a collection on their normal collection day next week (weather permitting)

The Council are attempting to collect food waste (by using smaller four wheel drive vehicles) however any missed collections will be collected on the normal collection day next week (weather permitting).

All deliveries and bulk collections have also been suspended and will recommence from next week, weather permitting.

Clinical waste collections will continue as normal if access allows.

A spokesman said: “Flintshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience cause by the changes and can reassure residents that we will be looking to return the collection service back to normal as soon as weather conditions allow.”
