Workers have high hopes of raising thousands for charity

May 30 2007

Crewe Chronicle

A CREWE firm faces a daunting uphill challenge in raising £40,000 for three different charities this Friday.

Staff from Kindertons Accident Management at Marshfield Bank are tackling the three peaks challenge, which entails climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in a 24-hour time limit.

The 13 staff members will attempt to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in support of multiple sclerosis research, St Luke's Hospice and the National Autistic Society.

Managing director Shaun Ellison said: 'The charities were chosen as many of us at Kindertons have in some way been affected, at some time, by these illnesses and we all wanted to help raise money to help to support others.'

Team member Steve Faun added: 'We have set ourselves a target to raise in excess of £40,000 and we are well on the way to this thanks to the fantastic support from our work partners, employees and family and friends.'

Sarah Hill, head of corporate partnerships for the National Autistic Society, added: 'I would like to thank all 13 Kindertons staff members who have taken on this massive task.

'I am thrilled at the hard work, effort and generosity they have shown.'

* The expedition is due to set off for Fort William in Scotland tomorrow with a scheduled 2pm start on Friday. To pledge a donation, phone Janet Barton on 01270 500900 or e-mail janet.barton@kindertons.co.uk. ..SUPL:
