BOROUGH mayor Ted Lloyd unveiled a new cut-price food store in the heart of Ellesmere Port.
He officially opened Aldi in Grange Road, along with store manager Katie Norton and Marsad Causevic, area manager for the store.
The first customers through the door were Bob and Pat Huyton, who live in the town centre. Bob was also the first ever customer at the new Asda nearby.
An Aldi spokeswoman said: 'The opening went really well. We had the radio station Dee 106.3 there reporting live.
'The store seemed very popular. We've had good feedback from customers on the day and since.'
