VANDALS have left toddlers and parents distraught by uprooting a £730 playground toy.
Teenagers broke into the grounds of St Saviour's Pre-School in Great Sutton and pulled the caterpillar ride out of the floor.
The toy had been bought for the toddlers just before they broke up for the summer holidays. The damage, along with smashed beer bottles in the playground, was discovered when the children returned this week.
Louise Evans, a parent and fundraiser for the Seacombe Drive site, said: 'This is so heart-wrenching.
'It's upsetting because these are little children and their play equipment has been wrecked by these youths.
