Nuisance teenager issued with ASBO

Jul 4 2007

The Chronicle

POLICE have welcomed the decision to impose an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) on a 13-year-old schoolboy who made residents' lives 'a misery'.

Jake Charles Fittes, of Wallace Street, Northwich, was handed the order at Vale Royal Youth Court on Wednesday and now risks being jailed for up to five years if he breaches any of the terms.

The order, which remains in force until January 2010, was imposed after the bench decided Fittes 'acted in an anti-social manner likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress'.

Det Con Ian Wetherall, of Northwich Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU), said: 'It's unacceptable for people's lives to be made a misery by others and we will not tolerate it. The fact that the court has imposed an ASBO shows this view is a shared one.'
