‘Shock’ as post office is closed

ANXIOUS Halebank residents are being reassured following the closure of their nearest Post Office.
Worried customers contacted the Weekly News saying that the sub post office on Hale Road was being closed with little advanced warning.
One elderly resident said the closure would affect pensioners the most as they would struggle to get to another post office.
She said: ‘We’ve been told that the post office is closing and we’re all really upset about it. It’s absolutely shocking.
‘The post office is essential to our community and what makes it even worse is that we were given no advanced notice at all.

‘This has all come out of the blue. I think a lot of the pensioners are going to have a great deal of difficulty when it’s gone.’
