AS Ugly Sisters Trinny and Susanna in the Lyceum's Christmas pantomime Cinderella, the Lavelle Brothers certainly do need to be told what not to wear.
The talented double act are revelling among the boos and hisses at the Crewe theatre as Cinders' hideously dressed stepsisters.
Real-life twins John and Jim Lavelle, 57, last played the devilish sisters at the Lyceum in 2001 and John said: 'The Ugly Sisters are such wonderful parts to play that we just couldn't refuse coming back. The audiences have been absolutely fantastic and we are loving every minute of it.
'We are being even nastier and even uglier sisters this year and the audience seem to love to hate us! We make our entrance through the crowd and it's great fun interacting with them, although we have to be a bit careful with some of the younger ones not to scare them too much.' One of the most striking elements of this year's show is the huge array of colourful and mismatched outfits the duo get to wear. John explains: 'There are 12 in total, and some are about as impractical as you can get.'
They star alongside former Emmerdale actress Leah Bracknell as Prince Charming, Hollyoaks' Jemma Keys as Cinders and entertainer Johnny Mac as Buttons until January 3. For tickets, phone the box office on 01270 537333
