CHOLMONDELEY Castle is the perfect setting for a romantic evening - as crowds flocking to tomorrow night's Manchester Camerata concert will find out. Cholmondeley Castle and gardens is reputed to be one of the most romantically beautiful settings ever seen. This setting with the addition of romantic music performed by Manchester Camerata Orchestra will make the most memorable evening for couples all over the region. This evening will be of particular significance for two couples associated with the Cholmondeley estate. Arthur and Janet Mitchell have lived on the estate for more than 70 years and have been married for more than 40 years. To mark this long-lasting romance Arthur and Janet have been given tickets so they can celebrate their long romance with family and friends tomorrow (Saturday, July 17). A new romance is also about to begin with Janette Farrall and Andrew Harridine, due to be married this month. They will be starting their wedding celebrations in style with this special evening at the Castle. James Hall, estate manager at Cholmondeley, said: 'We hope we will hear many stories of couples celebrating wedding anniversaries and perhaps even becoming engaged at Cholmondeley on July 17. 'One year a couple enjoyed the concert as their after-wedding party; maybe this will happen again. The special atmosphere surrounding the castle ought to make this a memorable occasion for anyone celebrating an anniversary.' Inspiration for the programme of music has been drawn from well-known romantic musicals including pieces from West Side Story, Casablanca, South Pacific and Oklahoma! This, mixed with more classical pieces from Verdi, Bizet and Puccini and the grand firework finale that everyone looks forward to and which includes Rule Britannia, 1812 Festival Overture and Jerusalem, makes for a fabulous evening. Lady Cholmondeley is delighted to welcome guests on this special evening: 'I feel the theme we have chosen encapsulates the character of the castle and gardens. I hope guests to the evening event take the time to see how the theme has evolved by enjoying a stroll around the castle gardens before the performance.' The gates for the event open at 4pm for guests to enjoy the rehearsals and the spectacular gardens; the concert begins at 7pm. People are advised to bring chairs and umbrellas in case of rain.
