JAZZ superstar Stacey Kent appears at Newcastle's New Vic Theatre next week.
Fresh from performances in Marseilles, Vienna and Istanbul, she and her musicians will be making an appearance for one night only on Thursday, July 29.
Widely regarded as one of the great jazz divas of our times, Kent has left the jazz world stunned with her interpretations of the great swing classics.
She is regularly mentioned in the same breath as legends Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan and has fans across the globe.
Kent recorded five best-selling albums and has a string of awards to her name, including the 2002 BBC Jazz Award for Best Vocalist.
Humphrey Lyttelton, one of the giants of jazz, said of Kent's music: 'It leaves one searching for a more superlative word than greatest.'
Since the release of her first album, Close Your Eyes, Kent has achieved both critical and popular success, with her fresh and heartfelt interpretations of the finest love songs of the 20th Century. Her songs feature timeless stories that touch young and old alike, and audiences have fallen in love with her natural charm.
