Her remarkable tale of enthusiasm, determination and a will to succeed, began when she moved from her Pennsylvania home to Enterprise, Alabama after her parents split. 'I think that anytime parents split, it's hard on the kids,' she mused. 'We were no different. I ended up living with my dad and my brother, with my mum.' During her early years, she flitted between the two homes before moving back to Pennsylvania, leaving school and trying her luck as a topless dancer. Despite being, in her own words, 'flat as a board', she soon caught the knack for the routine and invested in implants - something she has always been remarkably frank about. When asked on her personal website if her breasts were her own, she responded, 'yes, I have a receipt for them around here somewhere'. However her lifestyle in topless clubs was far from glamorous. 'Politics, favourites, over the top 'lap dances', scummy stages and never-washed poles with slime on them, girls that let customers do anything for $5 - you name it,' she laughs. 'That's why I became a feature showgirl. As a feature, you don't have to deal with much of that. You just do your burlesque shows on their allotted times. 'I was shooting for magazines and getting turned down because I was too hard-bodied or 'glamorous' looking. At that point, they were looking for soft, pale, blonde, barely-legal types. I decided to take it to an arena that welcomed a glamorous look instead.' Her move took her to the pages of such popular magazines as Playboy, FHM and MuscleMag. Nevertheless despite undertaking shoots for her personal website, www.aprilhunter.com, her heart is set on making the big-time in professional wrestling. She has already held world championships, competes with men on a regular basis and is quick to defend the sport she loves. She stated with a smile: 'Right now I hold tag team titles with Slyk Wagner Brown. He and I have been a team for the or more talented partner to watch my back. 'People label wrestling 'fake' but it depends where you are. In the USA, it's more 'sports entertainment'. In Japan, it's all sport and very real. And regardless of where you are, the athleticism is real, the injuries are real and the chops are definitely real! If it weren't, there wouldn't be so many out with injuries at a given time.' Her ultimate goal remains to break through into the ranks of the popular WWE programme and compete in front of a huge worldwide audience. However she is honest and reflective about her chances. She said: 'Allow me that opportunity, and I'll do my best. Oh, and I already have the implants, so I automatically save the company $6,000! 'It depends what they're looking for. I know they like to make a lucrative Playboy deal with the girls after they become popular and if they've already been naked, that's hard to do. But if they're looking for wrestling rather than just another set of boobs, then that's me.' |
