GIRLS Aloud will top the bill on the opening night of the Faenol Festival in North Wales.
The group will be performing tonight (Friday, August 24), the first of the festival’s four nights.
Friday boasts an excellent pop line-up for, as well as Girls Aloud, the bill also includes chart-topper Shayne Ward and R&B star Jamelia.
The festival takes place within the magnificent surroundings of the Faenol Estate near Caernarfon and is curated by internationally acclaimed Welsh opera star Bryn Terfel.
Tickets for the Friday show are £36 for seating and £28 for ‘grass’ tickets, for which you can take your own seating. Gates open at 5.30pm.
Over the following three nights, music lovers will be treated to an Opera Gala featuring Bryn Terfel, who will be joined by Carlos Alvarez and Christine Rice tomorrow (Saturday); to an evening of songs from well-loved musicals under the banner The Hills Are Alive on Sunday at which stars such as Michael Ball, Ruthie Henshall and Sound of Music leading lady Connie Fisher will be performing; and finally, on Bank Holiday Monday, the Dragon’s Fire concert celebrating 30 years of BBC Radio Cymru, with some of the best rock and pop acts from the Welsh music scene.
The Opera Gala and Hills Are Alive tickets are £38.50 and £28 and for the Dragon’s Fire show, tickets are £19.50 for adults and £12.50 for children. A four-day Promenade ticket is available for £85. There is a 10% discount for bookings of 10 or more people.
