His evening went from good to sublime after he ordered banana and toffee cheesecake (£3.75) and is presented with a huge portion of the homemade dessert, dotted with a beautiful toffee sauce and slices of fresh banana. It was simply gorgeous.
I go for a warm walnut tart with creme fraiche (£3.75) and a black coffee (£1.60), which I am still having the occasional daydream about.
It came as a bit of a shock when we opened the door to leave and discovered the Grand Canal we had come to expect from the food and welcome inside had been cruelly replaced with a windy, wet night in Chester.
I've always thought that anyone who risks their hand and voyages into the notoriously fickle world of opening their own restaurant is to be applauded. Those that do it with the effortless style and warmth of the family behind Pacino's deserve a standing ovation.
Price: We paid £57.80 for two bottles of beer, a bottle of house red, three courses each and a coffee.
Best thing: Lively atmosphere and delicious main courses.
Worst thing: Disappointing starters.
Would suit: Big groups with something to celebrate or couples who don't mind a louder backdrop to their romantic evening.

Pacino's is simply the best restaurant I've ever been too. The menu is a good size, not the road map sized thing you get in certain other places and not over priced. The specials are ever changing, nicely varied and all delicious! Greg and the girls are all great to be around as well, friendly, approachable and knowledgable. My usual choices are seafood and the Steaks, I haven't tasted better anywhere. The pasta and poultry dishes are also winners and just exactly how they get their sauces to taste like that is a mystery that I've tried to recreate unsuccessfully at home a few times! In the many years I've been going regularly to Pacino's I'm yet to have a bad meal. The wine list is great too, as with the food, reasonably priced and the staff will help you with picking out something interesting or that will complement your meal/taste etc. Pacino's remains my favourite restaurant, I'll leave it there as I have a table to book! Happy dining!
