TREASURES in Your Garden is a new exhibition opening at the Grosvenor Museum on April 19 of art and artefacts, exploring gardens and what can be found in them.
Have you ever found anything interesting in your garden, such as colourful pottery, clay pipes, or interesting bottles?
The Grosvenor Museum would like to borrow any objects you’ve found in the garden; they are particularly interested in anything unusual and quirky. Your objects do not have to be ‘antiques’ as they plan to display objects from different periods.
The exhibition helps to celebrate Cheshire’s Year of Gardens - other exhibitions with a gardens theme at the Grosvenor Museum include Fashioning Flowers & Foliage and Cheshire Parks & Gardens.
Chester History and Heritage have a planned exhibition of photographs by David Heke entitled Chester’s Parks & Gardens opening on April 7.
On Wednesday, March 26 and Thursday, March 27 March there is a chance to Join artist Tim Pugh for a morning working on mixed media drawing, then in the afternoon creating a collage from natural materials found in Grosvenor Park.
If you think you have an item to display contact Lucy Ashdown before 31 March at the Grosvenor Museum, 27 Grosvenor Street, Chester, CH1 2DD, 01244 402033.
