THE opportunities generated for restaurants, food suppliers and food growers in Chester and Cheshire by Cheshire’s Year of Gardens 08 and the Liverpool Capital of Culture celebrations will come under the spotlight at a conference later this month.
More than 170 restaurants, pubs, café bars, tea rooms and attraction catering facilities from the area signed up to attend the Restaurant Association of Chester and Cheshire’s second annual conference on Monday at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa.
Speaker at the event is Bob Cotton OBE, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association.
Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Cheshire’s food and drink sector with other speakers including Stephen Wundke, Chairman of the Restaurant Association of Cheshire, Visit Chester & Cheshire director of operations, Barrie Kelly and Pat Foreman, CEO of Food Northwest.
Alistair Woodward of the Home Office will be attending to explain the new points-based system for work permits for migrant labour. There will also be a presentation on how members can maximise marketing through the power of the internet.
