POPULAR TV garden expert Chris Beardshaw is to become the technical adviser to Cheshire’s Year of Gardens 08 and the long-term programme to develop Cheshire as the destination of choice for garden lovers worldwide.
Chris, star of Flying Gardener, Hidden Gardens and Gardeners’ World, will work with garden owners and the people of Cheshire to help develop all aspects of the county’s garden-led attractions.
The Year of Gardens programme is expected to attract an 300,000 visitors and generate an economic impact of £15m over this and future years.
“I’m really pleased to be able to get involved with what are without doubt some of the UK’s leading garden attractions,” said Chris.
In addition to all the gardens, visitors will be able to choose from dozens of memorable events, many of them unique and UK ‘firsts’, including access to a secret garden.
