A LIVELY and creative exhibition by the Cheshire Artists Network (CAN) has opened at Nantwich Museum.
Garden Delights is part of a series of community-based exhibitions across the county to celebrate Cheshire’s Year of Gardens.
A fascinating feature of the displays is a trail of spirals which CAN is using to symbolise growth and in the case of Nantwich, it has formed an ingenious trail linked to the town’s ancient trades.
Nantwich in Bloom chairman Doug Butterill used the grand opening to launch a design for a town centre flower bed by Stapeley artist Kate McKennan.
In reds, oranges and yellows, it is intended to represent the Great Fire of Nantwich.
Mr Butterill has stressed that it is an important year for Nantwich in its bid to win gold in Britain in Bloom.
Meanwhile, the Pillory Street museum is hosting a creative session by Deana Emerton and workshops for children on Wednesday, April 2, and Thursday, April 3, from 11am- 3pm, when children and families will have the opportunity to make paper flowers and butterflies and contribute to a garden montage.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am to 4.30pm.
